I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book someday. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero.
I was born and raised in Germany, but long before my family immigrated to the U.S., I was fascinated with the American West. I grew up on german-dubbed episodes of Little House, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza, as well as the adventure novels set in the old American West by German author, Karl May.
I'm married to my high school sweetheart, and we are living our dream in Yellowstone National Park. Not only do I get to write about this magical setting in many of my books, but I also get to live in this amazing place! Almost every summer since my husband and I graduated from high school, we have spent two weeks camping in Yellowstone National Park. It has felt like home for so long, and in 2017, we made that dream a reality!
